Privacy notice

The short version

This site does not track you. There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising tags, and nothing on any page is loaded from another company’s server. Reading it leaves no record with us. Only what you choose to send through the contact form reaches Lola. It does leave a record in your own browser history, which matters more than anything else on this page if someone can see your device.

If you are worried someone can see what you browse

Quick exit, at the top of every page, leaves immediately for a weather site. Pressing Escape three times quickly does the same. Neither removes this site from your browser history, so if you can, open it in a private or incognito window, which keeps nothing once you close it. If you are in immediate danger, call 999. Scotland’s Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline is 0800 027 1234, free and open all day and night.

What the site stores on your device

One thing, and only if you ask for it. If you add ?motion=off to a web address here, your browser remembers that preference so the site stays still on your next visit. It is kept in your browser, never sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data removes it. Nothing else is stored, and no cookies are set at all.

What is recorded when you visit

Nothing by us. The company that serves these pages keeps standard server logs, which record the address of each request, the page asked for and the time. That happens for every website you visit and is how servers work; we do not read those logs, and nothing in them is connected to a name.

If you use the contact form

The form asks for your email address and a message, and lets you add your name, a mobile number, a social media link and a subject. Only fill in what you want Lola to have. When you press Send, the company that hosts this site receives the form, keeps a copy in the site’s account, and emails it to Lola. She uses it only to reply to you. It is not added to a mailing list, and it is never sold or passed on. Submissions are deleted from the host once the conversation is finished. The form is for speaking, partnership and funding enquiries: if you need support, please use the support email below rather than the form.

If you write to us

The addresses on this site are ordinary email. If you write toimisi@eliteceo.co.uk or imisi@eliteceo.co.uk, your message and your address sit in an email account until they are dealt with, and are kept only as long as they are needed for the conversation you started. They are not added to a mailing list and are never sold or passed on. Email is not secure in transit, so please do not put anything in it you would not want read by someone else.

The women whose stories appear here

Every person featured has given written, informed consent that covers exactly what is published, and can withdraw it at any time, at which point the story comes down. No photographs of them appear: the portraits are illustrations. No film uses a real voice; every account is her own words read aloud by a synthetic voice, which each player states on screen. Nothing published identifies a home, a workplace, a family or an employer. Consent records are held securely and are not published.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to how it is used. Write toimisi@eliteceo.co.uk and say what you would like. If you are not satisfied with the answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office atico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
