My Impact

My work has developed across career development, personal growth, leadership, empowerment and community impact.

Invite Lola to speak

At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: people can create a different future when they have the confidence, knowledge, support and opportunity to see what is possible.

Over the years, I have:

  • Supported individuals with career development, professional growth and career progression, helping them recognise their strengths, develop confidence and pursue new opportunities.
  • Helped people develop greater self-awareness, confidence, personal responsibility and resilience.
  • Shared practical knowledge and experiences around leadership, workplace success, personal development and navigating life and career challenges.
  • Used my own journey and lived experiences to inspire others to see possibilities beyond their current circumstances.
  • Engaged with African, migrant and wider ethnic minority communities around career, personal development, empowerment and navigating life in the UK.
  • Supported women affected by domestic abuse through listening, encouragement, signposting and helping them reconnect with their sense of worth and possibility.
  • Connected individuals experiencing difficult circumstances with appropriate specialist organisations and support services.
  • Participated in domestic abuse awareness and Violence Against Women initiatives, including engaging with survivors and contributing to awareness activities at the Scottish Parliament.
  • Participated in campaigns and community conversations designed to raise awareness, challenge silence and encourage people to seek appropriate support.
  • Created and contributed to speaking engagements, workshops, community conversations and development initiatives that encourage learning, growth and positive action.

My Community Impact

Some of this work has been undertaken through my professional activities, while other aspects have been carried out personally, through relationships, lived experience and my commitment to helping others.

I have never believed that making an impact always requires a formal title, organisation or programme. Sometimes impact begins with a conversation — listening to someone who feels unheard, helping someone recognise their options, sharing an experience that gives someone hope, or connecting a person to the right support.

I have had the privilege of seeing people move from fear to confidence, uncertainty to clarity, and difficult circumstances towards new possibilities.

The People Behind the Impact

At the centre of this work are the people.

  • People who have found the confidence to pursue a career opportunity.
  • People who have discovered their voice.
  • People who have recognised that they are capable of more.
  • People who have rebuilt after difficult experiences.
  • People who have taken responsibility for creating a different future.
  • People who have found the courage to leave situations that were harming them and begin rebuilding their lives.

Some of the individuals I have supported have generously agreed to share their experiences as testimonials, allowing others to see the real human impact behind the work.

What Impact Means to Me

I don't measure impact only by the number of people reached, events attended or programmes delivered.

I measure it by what changes in a person's life afterwards.

  • Did they believe in themselves a little more?
  • Did they take the step they had been afraid to take?
  • Did they pursue the opportunity they once thought was beyond them?
  • Did they find the courage to ask for help?
  • Did they discover that they had choices?
  • Did they begin to see themselves differently?

Because ultimately, the measure of my work is not simply what I do for people — it is what becomes possible for them because they were supported, encouraged or inspired to take their next step.
